I was raised in the countryside of Northeastern Ohio, where I spent much of my youth exploring nature, being curious, and making things. I decided to continue on the creative route with my college education – attending the Maryland Institute College of Art from 2005-2009. I hold a bachelor's degree in Illustration and a concentration in graphic design.
My main focus is directed toward painting large scale murals and public art. I have painted dozens of interior and exterior walls in Maryland, Washington D.C., New York, and now in Oregon state. The subject matter for each project varies, but I often use natural world metaphors to convey a wide variety of ideas. I prefer to paint imagery that brings wonder and excitement to the public by using subject matter that is based in the natural world, maintains aesthetic beauty, and is also educational.
I also create illustrations for special interest books and magazines that focus on outdoor life, gardening, wilderness recreation, natural environments, plants and animals, and scientifically driven natural education. My approach is deeply rooted in the traditional skills of drawing and painting, and exercising imagination and empathy.
Please be in touch if you have visual problems to solve. I’m always excited to take on new projects!
