“In 2011 I opened a restaurant, and Mr. Cesen was referred to me to develop the three large (about 10’ x 15’, on average) interior murals I had in mind. We brainstormed various ideas and then Mr. Cesen made multiple renderings, going back to the proverbial drawing board until we were both satisfied with the plan. The murals consisted of printed drawings, which Mr. Cesen installed with proper attention to the old brick walls, finished with paint and affixed with wheat paste. The murals looked so good that we gave Mr. Cesen additional work including some decorative lettering and tromp l’oeil lathe on the dining room walls. Not only were we very satisfied with all of the finished products, but Mr. Cesen could not have been easier to work with. He was detailed, diligent, open-minded and timely.
I attended one of Mr. Cesen’s shows a couple of years later and purchased one of his paintings for my home. When there was a mix-up with the gallery and the picture wound up in the wrong hands, Mr. Cesen quickly made me another similar painting, even though the mistake was not his.
